What's been happening this week?

Whilst Shane has spent the last couple of weeks swanning around India the rest of us have been running around like blue assed flies kicking off one of the busiest pre-season starts thats we have ever had. This has meant that our facebook activity has been a bit quieter. It has also meant that we have been playing loads of Smashing Pumpkins, Paul Weller/Jam and Talking Heads in the shop. Obviously Pete wanted more Bob Marley but JD wasn't going to let that happen!!

The amazing test result from Cycling Plus awarding the Giant Defy Advanced 2 "bike of the year" has had spin off results right across the Defy range. It's been no secret that the Giant TCR is one of the all time best off the shelf performance bikes that you can get and now it's 'slightly' less aggressive stable-mate the Defy has been officially recognised for the terrific all round bike that we always have known it is.

Stocks are selling out fast and as of yesterday our May delivery from Giant will be the last that we get until the 2014 bikes start coming through. It's a big delivery but customers are placing forward orders with deposits so get in quick!

Whilst the full bounce market has slowed slightly the hard tail 29'ers are flying out of the doors, hard to be at  £500 is the Hardrock sport. We left the price ticket off one for a week or so and parked it just inside the front doors. Customers looking for an entry lever MTB walked past it assuming that it was a £1000 plus bike until we walked them through the stock and introduced the Hardrock - great bike.

Cervelo are on fire at the moment with P5's and P3's selling well, Ssssh don't say too much butrumour has it that there is a complete P2 TT bike coming down the pipes very soon with a ticket price WELL under £2800. we have in stock the new R3's and S2 - got to say the new liverys are stunning.

Finally Dawes we have just sold our amazing Galaxy Twin that local Para Triathlete Melissa Reid did so well with - what a bike that was, a real giant killer, showing just how quick what is essentially a touring bike the Galaxy Twin can be with a few mild tweaks. Good luck Sarah.

Compare all the above to the little Dawes Kingpin that has just rocked up. What a great value £399 folder that is - perfect little stowaway addition for the camper-van or boat.

So thats it for now Pete's head down with loading product on to the new web site - check it out - and Shanes' back next week ready to book more bike fits. Summers coming!
