On what promised to be a wet and windy evening, according to all the weather forecasts, actually turned out to be a warm, sunny and blustery one. Even the water temperature in the solar heated pool was not as bad as everyone thought it was going to be.
Sixty competitors entered the race in a time trial fashion with a swimmer entering the water every 30 seconds. An approximate 200m swim around the edge of Jubilee Pool, marked out by buoys followed by a mile out, mile back run along the Prom. Strong winds meant competitors fought their way through the first mile but were happily rewarded with a gentle push on the way home!
At the finish it could not have been a closer race if you tried!! With one second separating the first and second place finishers of Cycle Logic’s team members Neil Eddy and David Bartlett.
